FROM COW TO CONE
At the Little Ice Cream Co. we believe in using and supporting local suppliers wherever possible. There is no better example of this than our firm friendship with Adams Farm in Felixstowe. All of the milk for our ice cream comes fresh from the happy Holstein herd at Adams Farm.
BUT HOW DO WE TURN IT INTO OUR FAMOUS LUXURY ICE CREAM?
- The milk is delivered to our Dairy in Nacton where it is carefully heat treated and pasteurised along with double cream, sugar and a few other important ingredients.
- It is then cooled rapidly and kept chilled for the duration of the ice cream making process.
- Our ice cream chefs then work their magic, using the mixture bit by bit and adding yummy ingredients to create all of our different delicious flavours.
- Once the final ingredients have been added, the mixture is rapidly beaten, mixed and frozen. And… Hey presto…
Our delicious, local ice cream, made by hand, with love! The finished product is then delivered to our shop for you to enjoy. This whole process takes approximately 10 hours from start to finish. We know it’s worth it – because you keep coming back for more!
